International Quilters Day Report – 2026

International Quilters Day  is a special occasion dedicated to the celebration of quilting; an art form that has been cherished for centuries. This day brings together quilters all over the world to share their passion, creativity, and skills.

Held annually on the third Saturday of March; the event in 2026 will be held on the second Saturday (14^th March 2026) due to the scheduled South Australian State election which is held on the third Saturday.

International Quilters Day was first established in 1991 by the American National Quilting Association (NQA). The idea was to create a day that honours the rich history and cultural significance of quilting. Over the years, the celebration has grown in popularity, with quilters from various countries participating.
