Australasian Quilt Convention is held in Victoria annually and is considered to be a premier event for quilting in Australia. With a display of the best quilts from the Guild Shows held around the country during the previous year, there is a comprehensive class schedule as well as special exhibits and events. A highlight is the Gala awards dinner with presentation of the Rajah, Lut-da and Shining Light service and encouragement awards and the winning entries in the annual quilt challenge sponsored by Expertise Events. The National Quilt award, sponsored by Bernina Australia, is selected from competing Best of Show Quilts representing each Australian state or territory.
