The Rose Lattice Garden quilt is a lovely blend of fabrics and colours to depict a lattice in the garden with full-blown roses growing on the lattice. Students can use a different variety of colour choices in their fabrics depending on the effect they wish to have with the completed quilt. This quilt has inspired other students to experiment with colours and it has been reproduced in chocolates, pinks & creams, autumnal tones, blues, beiges & creams and also a Kaffe Fassett version. The appliqué is blanket stitched by machine or hand if you prefer and fabric choices for the roses & stems will be discussed ready for the second class.

Many quilters have been collecting Japanese, African, Aboriginal or another special group of fabrics but find it difficult launch into using them.

In this class participants have fun designing and stitching a quilt that features these fabrics in a unique way.  Irregular blocks featuring machine appliqué and fill in blocks of free cut shapes are joined by vertical or horizontal panels to create a spectacular 'one of a kind' quilt.

In a one day class, students will make a sample of each block and will be given instruction on how to complete the quilt
