Australasian Quilt Convention is held in Victoria during April and is considered to be the premier event for quilting in Australia. With a display of the best quilts from the Craft & Quilt Fairs held around the country during the previous year, there is a comprehensive class schedule as well as special exhibits and events. A highlight is the Gala awards dinner with presentation of the Rajah, Lut-da and Shining Light service and encouragement awards. Announcement of the winning entries in the annual quilt challenge and the National Quilt award, selected from competing Best of Show Quilts representing each Australian state or territory.
